Controversial Football Decsions

Home Grown Players?

There has been very contrversial issues in football. One of the most important is I believe the new "Home Grown Players Rule" It means that every premier league team must have at least 8 home grown players in their squad of 25.
The definition of home grown is to be trained for at least 3 years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English or Welsh professional system.
This is obviously a bad rule for clubs such as Aresnal or Chealsea, which have many, many foriegn players.

Eduardo

Another issue that occured recently that stimulated debate amougst managers, FIFA, and UFEA Board members was the Eduardo diving incident. Although it was blatently a dive in my opinion, Arense Wegner had to shield had to say "My player fell over so that another injury didn't occur to him" This statement counter-acts to the UFEA board members view point of that he player should be punished for "cheating the ref". This argument caused a stir and another controversial issue developed from this was that, "Should video evidence be used in the duration of games?" This issue was developed so that incidents like this won't happen again, and instead of the 2 match ban Eduardo recieved, a yellow card would have been given. However, the UFEA and FIFA board disagreed this decsion and canceled it out.
